A couple of weeks ago, we were very kindly invited by Away Resorts to experience their brand-new Esme accommodation at Tattershall Lakes. Having visited Tattershall Lakes before and loved it, we couldn’t wait to go back. The Esme looked stunning on the Away Resorts website—and it was even more beautiful in person, truly an Instagrammer’s dream!

About Away Resorts

Founded in 2008, Away Resorts now operates nine holiday parks across the UK. Their parks cater to a range of holiday styles—from lively, activity-packed family resorts to quieter spots perfect for escaping the daily grind.

What sets Away Resorts apart is how each park embraces its unique surroundings, offering something special for everyone. Many parks are filled with fantastic facilities and entertainment, while others provide a tranquil base for exploring local attractions. Most parks are dog-friendly too, meaning your four-legged family members can join the fun in many accommodation types—including luxury options like the Esme.

Introducing The Esme

Launched in 2021, the Esme is available at both Tattershall Lakes and Sandy Balls. The interior is nothing short of spectacular—imagine chic pink tones, dalmatian print accents, gold details, flamingos, and neon signs. You’d never guess this was a caravan!

Designed with inspiration from stylish mums, the Esme perfectly blends sophistication with playful charm. Its name means “to love,” fitting for such a compact, distinctive, and utterly adorable holiday home.

Inside, you’ll find Scandi-style furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, an ensuite master bedroom, Bluetooth speakers, a 55” flatscreen TV, double glazing, heating throughout, TVs in both bedrooms, a king-size bed with linens made up on arrival, and a lovely outdoor decking area with furniture for relaxing al fresco.

Discovering Tattershall Lakes

Nestled in the heart of Lincolnshire countryside, Tattershall Lakes is set around beautiful lakes, offering water-based activities such as water skiing, pedalos, and waterboarding. The park underwent a £5.5 million transformation a few years ago, and we first visited in 2019 to review the upgrades.

This time, we had the chance to experience the brand-new Lakeside Lido, an outdoor heated pool that was perfect despite the unpredictable British weather. In addition to the lido, the park features an indoor pool and a children’s Splashzone—all bookable in advance via the Away Resorts app.

We easily booked swimming sessions and a restaurant reservation at the Propeller Bar through the app. Other dining options on site and local takeaways that deliver to the park meant we were spoilt for choice throughout our stay.

Our Experience

Our holiday at Tattershall Lakes was truly amazing, and we can’t recommend the Esme accommodation enough. Whether you’re planning a family getaway, a girls’ weekend, or a romantic break, the Esme offers something unique and luxurious. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave!

There’s so much to do at Tattershall Lakes. The kids adored the swimming pools, arcades, pedalos, and adventure playground. With so many activities available, fitting everything in was a delightful challenge.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient—checking in was quick and seamless, all from our car. When we encountered a minor issue with one of the TVs, guest services replaced it within the hour without any hassle.
