A couple of weeks ago, James and I were invited to The Lost & Found in Sheffield to sample their food and drinks. It was our first time visiting, but we’d heard great things—so we were excited to experience it for ourselves.
Located right in the heart of Sheffield on Ecclesall Road, The Lost & Found offers a tempting mix of seasonal dishes and creative cocktails. The venue is inspired by a fictional character, Professor Victoria B. Darcy—a mythical botanist and conservationist who imagined a greener world long before it was fashionable. Her whimsical influence is evident throughout the space, with secret doors, hidden gardens, and a dreamlike world filled with flora and fauna. It’s said that wherever wildflowers bloom or lush parks appear in Sheffield, you can thank Victoria B. Darcy.
“Pushing the boundaries of discovery, lose yourself in a whimsical world of molecular mixology and seasonal cuisine at The Lost & Found. Come on in and satisfy all your drinking and dining needs as you uncover the unique depths of each of our professors’ Victorian hideaways, all whilst recalling the glamour of bygone eras. Discover and you shall find…”
First Impressions
The moment I saw the flower-adorned entrance, I knew I was going to love this place. The interior is just as stunning—lush greenery, elegant lighting, and vintage-inspired furniture create a magical, botanical ambiance that perfectly reflects the restaurant’s concept.
Starters to Share
To start, James and I shared the antipasti board (£18)—a delicious spread of cured meats, Italian olives, pickled gherkins, marinated mozzarella, and toasted sourdough. It was genuinely incredible—I’m still thinking about it!
Mains That Impressed
For the main course, we both opted for steak. I went for the 8oz flattened rump steak served with garlic butter and skinny fries (£16), while James chose the 8oz sirloin steak with confit tomato and peppercorn sauce (other sauce options include Béarnaise or garlic butter) (£18). Both dishes were perfectly cooked and full of flavour.
Dessert Heaven
Dessert was another highlight. I chose the white chocolate & raspberry Eton mess—a heavenly mix of vanilla cream, fresh raspberries, raspberry meringue, and raspberry sorbet (£7.50). It looked (and tasted) divine.
James had the dark chocolate & peanut butter parfait, served with caramelised banana and caramel sauce (£7). He said it was amazing—and it certainly looked like it!
Cocktails & Vibes
Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying a few cocktails. I had a Margarita and a Blossom Fizz, which was fruity, refreshing, and beautifully presented. Even better, cocktails are just £5 each Monday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm—great value for such high-quality drinks.
Final Thoughts
We had a fantastic evening at The Lost & Found and would absolutely recommend it to anyone local—or even visiting Sheffield. Whether you’re planning a date night, girls’ night out, or just fancy some top-tier cocktails, this place ticks all the boxes.
Everything—from the stunning decor and warm service to the delicious food and imaginative drinks—was flawless. A huge thank you to The Lost & Found for having us—we’ll definitely be back.
