From the beginning of 2018, entrepreneurs paying the insurance premium to the Social Insurance Institution no longer have to send three different transfers: social contribution, health insurance and Labor Fund, and one total, which will already be divided on the taxpayer’s account into appropriate sub-accounts and properly accounted for. This is to improve the process of settling accounts with ZUS and reduce the number of formalities that entrepreneurs are burdened with.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy has introduced changes under which each entrepreneur has obtained his own individual account with the Social Insurance Institution and this is where he is to pay his contribution. The solution used so far was completely different. ZUS provided three account numbers: for old-age and disability pension contributions, the so-called Social, for health contributions, for the Labor Fund. Therefore, the entrepreneur had to make three separate transfers every month, and each had to be provided with an appropriate identifier, so that the premiums were recorded for the appropriate entrepreneur. There were several identifiers. It was a tax identification number or PESEL number and an ID card. It was also required to provide the REGON number of the business activity. A separate identifier also applied to the premium paid. The appropriate symbol meant the current premium, overdue premium, enforcement costs, debt collection costs or an installment plan. The given dates indicated the period for which the premium is currently being settled. The money was booked according to the payment marking.

The new solution is to facilitate almost every angle. On the one hand, it is a convenience for the payer himself. He does not have to make several transfers every month, only one collective one. It is not a big time saver, but it is comfortable.

At the same time, a new, individual account number assigned to each payer is also his identifier. What does it mean? The payer does not have to enter a lot of identification information (NIP, REGON, PESEL), but only his data and the amount of the collective premium paid. As for ZUS employees, they also have a much easier task and simplified identification. They do not have to analyze transfers and find the right payments. The individual account number of the payer has an identification number embedded in it (eg NIP), thanks to which all payments can be found much easier, and thus, each entrepreneur can be verified faster. The system is to be more convenient, efficient and faster to use for everyone.

Until the end of 2017, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) provided all payers with information about the new system and the new account number to which insurance premiums should be transferred from 2018. People who set up a trusted profile on PUE received information just for its through. The rest received letters sent via Polish post. However, these were information mailings and it could turn out that they had been inadvertently thrown away without writing down the new number. Nothing is lost. The correct account number can still be recovered. This can be done in one of two ways. The first is a visit to the branch of the Social Insurance Institution appropriate for the place of residence. There you can get your account number again by entering your details. You can also use the special account search engine on the website https://www.eskladka.pl/ . After completing the form, the system will generate an account number that can be used freely from then on.

It is worth knowing that from 31/12/2017 all existing ZUS accounts will be closed. Settlement is therefore only possible through new accounts.

To sum up, the new solution should facilitate and streamline the settlement process, both on the part of the entrepreneur himself and on the part of officials.
