One of the most joyful days of the year is ahead of us – Children’s Day. On this occasion, Warsaw cultural institutions have prepared a rich cultural program for children, their parents and guardians. The city will host numerous exhibitions, workshops, picnics, concerts, performances and city walks. Touch art – exhibition opening, June 1 at 12-19

The opening of a unique exhibition of contemporary art, which is also a space for experimenting and fun, not only for the artist, but also for the audience. You will be able to enter the interior of the works of art, touch the paintings made of a soft sponge or simply move them to another place. It will be an opportunity to discover art together in an unusual way, because it affects all the senses. The exhibition is addressed to everyone – regardless of age, skills, knowledge or perception of the world. Animators will be present in the gallery at all times, who will provide “operating instructions” for individual works, as well as tell interesting stories related to them. The exhibition is available to people with sensory and physical disabilities. The exhibition will last until October 20, 2019. Admission free.

As every year, Polin announces one of the best family events in the city for Children’s Day. It will be an unusual, fairy-tale family picnic, which this year accompanies the exhibition for the youngest In King Matt’s Poland. 100th anniversary of regaining independence. On that day, a great tournament will be announced in Maciusiowym kingdom. Exciting challenges await King Matt’s friends: solving puzzles at the exhibition, overcoming labyrinths and obstacles requiring extraordinary dexterity, DIY, sewing and painting. There will also be tasty and healthy snacks and many other surprises. The day will end with a unique accent, with the premiere of a piece for orchestra and children’s choir inspired by the book “Król Maciuś the First” by Janusz Korczak. The music was written by Jerzy Rogiewicz (Jerz Igor, jazz trio of Marcin Masecki and others), and the words by Grzegorz Uzdański, the performers will be students of the Oskar Kolberg in Warsaw. Moon as a gift, May 30 – June 2

For 3 days from the evening of May 30 to June 2, on the stage in front of the planetarium, you will be able to see an art installation by Luke Jerram – “Museum of the Moon”. It will be a huge seven-meter moon hovering in the air, illuminating the night sky! ? ✨ Its surface was mapped on the basis of a detailed NASA photo in the approximate scale of 1: 500,000. Each centimeter of the sphere is 5 km of a real Silver Globe! Come, be amazed, take a picture with the Moon in the background. The game takes place in the space of the old town walls. Your task will be, among others making a decorative sgraffito or correctly arranging a puzzle to find out what a given building looked like before the war. Playing the role of a detective, equipped with a compass and binoculars, you will decipher the names of streets and buildings in the Old Town. The game is also available in English. Free entrance.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, the Museum of Warsaw Praga invites adults and children to unrestricted play in the yard and terrace at Targowa 50/52 Street. It will be a picnic announcing the Praga Sensyczne exhibition, which is scheduled to open on June 8. During the picnic, spending free time with the family will be accompanied by the development of sensory perception. In the sensory zones, you will be able to walk through a complicated labyrinth, practice peripheral vision, paint family portraits with your hands, prepare dolls from the materials available in the environment, or play forgotten movement games. While relaxing on sun loungers, museum visitors will be able to see a collection of recordings documenting unusual and ordinary sounds of Prague. There will be animations with the use of blocks and a city garden waiting for the guests. There will also be an opportunity to taste the flavors of the city – artisanal ice cream or the flavors of multicultural Prague will make your neighbors hungry while having fun.

What lives at night? – evening outdoor event for children, May 31, at 20-23

In Szczęśliwice Children’s Day begins on… Friday night! Why the night? Not only because laser shows and shows combining theater and fire are most beautiful after dark. The family event “What lives at night” will combine aesthetic and educational values: the organizers want to show parents and children “what lives at night” and make them aware of the importance of visibility when moving at dusk. But most of all, fun! The program includes, among others: two hours of fairy-tale animations, a show of huge soap bubbles, Piana Party combined with dancing games, a light show, a puzzle room, ceramics and art workshops, an interactive concert based on the performance of “Tirti Tist in Przestrzenie” by Katarynka Theater from Gdańsk and a fire-pyrotechnic show prepared by the FLOW-FIRESHOW company. At the end, there will be a laser show prepared by the Kameleon company. The Municipal Police and the Police have also announced their presence, so all interested parties will be able to take a closer look at the secrets of their work. These are just some of the many attractions that not only entertain, but educate, help to develop passions and shape character. We hope this nighttime adventure will remind everyone that all ages have the ability to experience childhood joy!
