This year, we were at the OFF Festival for the first time. As a Foundation, but also privately, as parents. Why we definitely recommend this place for family music lovers, but also why it is a good festival to start your family listening adventure, a few words in the following entry.
Intimate
OFF The festival is a very private festival. Despite four stages, two gastronomic zones and a large shop area, it is very cozy here. Probably a matter of place – the OFF Festival takes place in the Valley of the Three Ponds, in an almost municipal park, which definitely affects its atmosphere. There is a lot of greenery, trees and bushes. All this means that you do not have the impression of being at a huge music festival, and the crowd of people somehow camouflages in this scenery.
Security
It’s safe at the OFF Festival. Despite the sale of strong alcohols, there are no brawls, harassment, drunk, staggering people here. There is, however, a security that is diligent in ensuring that you do not take anything out of the food court.
sandOFFnica
The family zone has a different character here than, for example, the one at the Open’er Festival (see HERE). It is far from the stages, almost at the back of the festival grounds. It is a green area where workshops for children are held, attractions and the title sandbox are prepared. This gives the children a chance to rest, catch a breath, and children can run safely and carefree without the assistance of their parents. This area has one drawback – apart from one big tree, it is exposed to the sun.
Tickets
Children up to 10 years old enter the OFF Festival for free. This is a great advantage, especially if it turns out that the children feel unwell at the festival or that it needs to be shortened for some reason. This certainly also affects the number of people with children who come to OFFICE.
Lots of families
Mass. There are really a lot of families with children here. Until the mug laughs itself 🙂 Of course, we did not manage to show you all of them, because the whole festival time would probably not be enough. But you can see some of them on our Instagram.
But to make it not so sweet, we also have our reservations .
- Poor sanitary facilities for families. There is a changing table in the family zone, but the zone is open for a short time – until 8:30 PM. There is no changing table elsewhere on the festival site. There is a large toi-toi in the zone, which is not a very comfortable place, especially for younger children.
- The lack of a place to shelter in the rain is another downside of the OFF Festival. A tent where parents with children could hide in bad weather would be nice.
- We were also disappointed with the gastronomic sales in the family zone. The organizers announced that there will be special food for children at the festival. The idea seemed brilliant. Unfortunately, it turned out that piaskOFFnica sells only ice cream and sweets 🙁
- No parking at the entrance, even for parents with young children. For many kids, just walking to the festival gates can be a huge challenge. For parents, definitely a return.
If you are thinking of going to a festival with children next season, we definitely recommend the OFF Festival. Despite some shortcomings, it is a nice place to spend family time together.
